Guarantee and safe use

The legal cover that comes with each product, how to make a claim, and the safety habits that matter with heat, pressure and blades.

The legal guarantee: three years

All six products come with the legal guarantee of conformity. Under Spanish law, which applies to our sales, it runs for three years from the day of delivery for new goods. The EU-wide minimum is two years, and where the law of your own country gives you more on any point, you keep that extra protection.

For the first two years, a fault that appears is presumed to have been there at delivery unless we can show otherwise. In the third year, a short description of what happened and when makes it easier to sort out quickly.

Examples of what is covered

  • An air fryer or popcorn maker that stops heating, or whose fan or controls fail
  • A pressure cooker that will not build or hold pressure, or whose programmes or lid lock stop working
  • A slicer motor that fails, or a safety switch that no longer works as it should
  • A vacuum sealer that no longer draws air out or seals the bag
  • A pan whose handle comes loose or whose base distorts in normal use

The first remedy is a repair or a replacement. If neither can be done, or would take unreasonably long, you may choose a reduction in price or a full refund.

What falls outside it

  • Damage from a fall, from liquid reaching the electrics, or from use on the wrong voltage
  • Parts that wear out with use, such as the pressure cooker’s sealing ring, paper liners and vacuum bags
  • Scratches on pans from metal utensils or scouring pads, and marks from overheating an empty pan
  • Problems caused by repairs or changes made by someone else
  • Cosmetic marks that do not affect use and were not reported within 48 hours of delivery

Making a claim

  1. Email support@halvus.com with your order number.
  2. Describe what the product is doing, adding a photo or a short video if the fault can be seen.
  3. We explain what happens next and, if the product has to come back, book its collection at our cost.

Pressure cooker

  • Never fill above the maximum line, and no more than half full for beans, lentils, rice and grains, which foam and swell.
  • Always add the minimum amount of liquid given in the manual; never run it dry.
  • Let the pressure come down fully before opening. Never force the lid.
  • When using quick release, keep your face and hands away from the valve.
  • Check before each use that the sealing ring is in place and the valve is clear.

Air fryer and popcorn maker

  • Stand them on a heat-resistant, level surface with space around them, and keep the air outlet away from walls, cupboards and curtains.
  • The basket, drawer and chimney get hot: use the handle, and let parts cool before cleaning.
  • Use only paper liners made for air fryers, and never let a liner rise into the heating element.
  • Put only kernels into the popcorn maker; oil, butter and sugar go on afterwards.

Food slicer

  • Always use the food pusher, and keep fingers clear of the blade.
  • Unplug the slicer before cleaning, and treat the blade as sharp even when it is switched off.
  • Keep it out of children’s reach.

Cookware and vacuum sealer

  • Pan handles and lid knobs get hot on the hob; use a cloth or oven glove.
  • Do not heat an empty pan on a high setting, especially on induction.
  • Allow the sealer to cool for a short time between bags, and keep liquid out of the vacuum chamber.
  • Vacuum-sealed fresh food still has to be kept in the fridge or freezer.

Follow the manual first. Every product ships with its own instructions, and where they differ from anything written here, the manual is the one to follow.
