Buying

Delivery

Where it reaches, how long it takes, and the two things that occasionally go wrong.

The map

All 27 European Union countries, free, whatever the order is worth. Street addresses only: a boxed pressure cooker or a slicer will not go into a parcel locker, and PO boxes and poste restante are out for the same reason. Somebody has to be there to take it from the driver.

The clock

It starts at the confirmation call, not at the order, because nothing is packed until a day has been agreed with you. From that point: 1–2 working days in the warehouse, 2–4 onward to Spain and Portugal, 3–6 onward across western and central Europe. Islands and remote regions are slower and the carrier gives the figure rather than us inventing one. Tracking arrives by email the moment the parcel moves.

The two things that go wrong

Nobody in. A card is left and the driver tries again the following working day. After two attempts the parcel returns to us and we telephone to arrange another run — we will not cancel an order because a delivery was missed unless you want it cancelled.

Damage. If it is visible on the carton, refuse the parcel while the driver is there and the matter ends immediately. If you only find it after unpacking, photograph the box and the machine, write within a few days, and keep the packaging until it is resolved, because the carrier usually wants to see it. Address changes are easy on the confirmation call and awkward afterwards, when they belong to the carrier and the tracking email is the way in.
